In My Gym Bag

Whether I’m going to hot yoga, or heading to GoodLife Fitness, I like to keep my gym routine after my workout really simple, and my gym bag light. I try not to bring too many products with me and tend to leave my make up at home.

Here is a little peek into my bag for some of my gym must haves.

gym bag essentials

1) The Body Shop Tea Tree Body Wash

Years ago, when I went to my first yoga class, they offered tea tree body wash in the showers. I’ve been hooked ever since!

2) Dove Anti-Perspirant

This anti-perspirant is my favourite. I like that it comes in a bunch of different scents so I can switch it up every once in a while. Right now I’m loving the peach ‘Burst’ scent.

3) OGX Tea Tree Shampoo

There’s something so refreshing about smelling the mix of mint after a workout that makes me feel even more energized after my workouts.

4) Batiste Dry Shampoo

I’m a newbie when it comes to dry shampoo. I saw this bottle on sale the other day and decided to give it a try. For those days when I don’t have time to shower after the gym, a quick spray of this in my hair instantly removes any shine. It also has a nice clean scent to it.

5) Nivea Lip Balm

This is my go-to lip protector. It makes my lips soft and hydrated without leaving them feeling greasy or sticky. The balm absorbs quickly and also gives my lips a nice moisturized shine.

6) Hair Ties

I sometimes keep my hair down while working out, but hair ties are a must for those days when I need to pull it up and out of my face.  I prefer a hair tie that has a lot of stretch and no metal band to keep it from getting tangled in my hair.

The Man Bun

A while ago I wrote about the Undercut. Recently, I’ve fallen for another hair style – the man bun. This men’s hairstyle should only be attempted by a certain type of man that can take it from looking lazy to looking chic.

It is not an easy look to pull off, but when done right H.E.L.L.O. There is something so rugged and masculine about a man with long hair that can make a casual bun look artful.

This look may not be for everyone, but personally I am a big fan. Here are some of my favourite looks…

Man bun hairstyle^^Pairing a beard and a man bun? The chicest.

Man bun hair^^Just perfect.

Of course, great style and a man bun bring a man to demigod status immediately. Zeus totally had a man bun, amirite?

Do you like long hair styles on men? Would you try this look? I think it takes really daring man to try this and do it confidently. Are you brave enough for a man bun?

The Undercut

Ahhh, the undercut. Hipster hair, Boardwalk Empire hair, aka the Jimmy Darmody hairstyle – whatever you want to call it, it’s a hot look. I don’t know what it is about this hair that makes me love it. Maybe because it makes a man look like a 1920’s gangster slash gentleman scholar? Slick and long at the top, shaved around the sides and back – a cross between a military cut, and something a bit more vintage. I don’t think I’m the only one hoping this cut stays around for a while longer.

What you think of this hairstyle. Would your man dare to try this look?

I am particularly in love with Justin Timberlake’s slick and straightened undercut. For a man with naturally curly hair, he really works this look.
