I am getting back into running and sticking to my workout plan which I talked about in my Aloha, Beach Body post. I’ve been trying to set mini goals for myself because it can be overwhelming to have one big goal that seems like it will take forever to reach. Little mini goals along the way pump me up and keep me motivated, so my first goal was to get more fruit into my diet. I’ve shared a recipe for a kickass smoothie below!
As another way to stay motivated, I got a new pair of workout shoes. Before this purchase, I had the same runners since highschool! Isn’t that insane!? I just never really cared to get new ones because they never appealed to me style wise, but then I saw these shoes and I fell in love. A gal needs stylish workout basics to stay motivated, ya know?
I have already used them once at GoodLife Fitness on a treadmill run and while doing some weight training. They were so nice to workout in! They are so light and airy, you almost don’t feel like you are wearing shoes. Since winter has unofficially arrived, I’m pretty sure that’s the only place I will be using them because while I admire people that run all year round, the freezing cold workouts will never be my thing and it’s so much nicer to work out inside in the warmth of the gym!
Let’s get back to that recipe!
I am not a morning person, therefore breakfast is normally something I skip during the week. I know, I know – not good! But to make up for it, I do pretty big breakfasts on the weekends. Buuut, usually those are greasy breakfasts, so that usually leads to a spontaneous trip to buy a ton of fruit right after. Today, was one of those days I felt like I needed to eat fruit ASAP to get some vitamins! Here’s what I made:
Blueberry Honey Vanilla Smoothie Recipe
- 2 cups blueberries (fresh or frozen)
- 2 tablespoons vanilla yogurt
- 1 tablespoon honey
I whizzed all the ingredients together in my blender for about a minute and then poured it into a glass. Making smoothies is honestly so easy there is no reason I shouldn’t be able to do this every morning, especially since eating colourfully is so key to getting plenty of vitamins.
Check back for my next fitness post for more fitness fashion and to find out if I decide juicing is for me and try to get more colour into my diet!
